Menu Plan Monday: 03/10/2014

This week I'm again joining along in the '4 weeks to a more organized home' challenge at Money Saving Mom.  Also, our families had a baby shower for us over the weekend, and I really need to work in the nursery this week to make room for everything we received.  So that is a TOP priority this week.  I hope to post my progress as I go.  I also have my OB appointment on Tuesday, as well as errands to run.  With all that in mind, I kept this week's menu VERY simplistic.  Here's what we're eating this week...

Breakfasts: Waffles or Granola Bars for Joe, Oatmeal for Me

Lunches: Leftovers, Sandwiches (using leftover meats and rolls from the shower)

Dinners:
Sunday -Texas Road House with a coupon and a gift card :)
Tuesday - Leftover Pork Sandwiches with Baked Onion Rings
Wednesday - Homemade Pizza
Thursday - Working at Joe's Grandfather's house, so we'll probably eat out with him :)
Friday - Grilled Bacon Cheese Burgers with Baked Tater Tots
Saturday - Leftovers/Sandwiches

Extras: Homemade Butterscotch Chip Cookies

  1. Was curious what your budget is/what you do for snacks? Do you try to keep everything healthy/balanced, how much do you do homemade? And do you do freezer cooking? Trying to figure out the perfect menu plan! :-)

    1. We have a $200 a month budget right now for food, household, and health and beauty items. I usually raise it in the summertime to $300 when my job starts each year to allow us to stock up on necessities. Right now my snacks of choice are string cheese, wheat thins, and yogurt. My husband isn't really a snacker, but whatever 'extra' I make for the week is usually for him, he has a serious sweet tooth :) All of our meals are homemade, with the exception of some side dishes, like Mexican rice. I do freezer cooking, but usually as pieces of a meal. I make things like garlic bread, pizza dough, fried beef and onions, hamburger patties, diced and sliced onions, and then freeze them, so the prep work for the meal is mostly done. Hope this helps, and good luck with your menu plan!
