This
month Joe, Howard, and I were able to sneak out to the thrift store,
and we scored BIG time! I can almost always find something to purchase,
but this time there were s-o m-a-n-y great deals to be had. We always
go on Wednesday which is half price day, so everything we purchased was
half off! Howard has moved into 3T clothing, so I was on a mission to
find 4 and 5 T items, and I hit the jack pot. I was very pleased to
find so many pairs of pants without zippers and snaps.

I have been following, and enjoying, your blog for quite a while, so I am slightly embarrassed that this is the very first time I have posted a comment. Although I have been living frugally for many years, you are totally responsible for making me an Aldi shopper - so, thanks for that! :) Since I live and work in Maryland, I am very interested in knowing the name of the thrift store where everything is 1/2 price on Wednesdays - could you share it?? Thanks in advance! :)

It's such a blessing to know that I have helped to inspired someone on their frugal-living journey, even if it is just shopping at ALDI. ;-) We actually go to the Community Aid in Hanover, PA. I have found that they are worth the 40 minute drive once or twice a month, especially since we are buying for a little one. They are so clean, organized, friendly, and they pull the plus size clothes out to their own section which is so helpful. Wednesday is 50% off everything - they call it 'family day.' They also do 50% off for seniors (55+) on Tuesday, and 50% off clothing for Firefighters, EMTs, Veterans, Active Duty Military, Police, Teachers, Healthcare Workers, and their families on Mondays, but you must show ID. I hope this helps - let me know if you decide to make a trip up!

I have been to Hanover (don't laugh, but my husband and adult son love the Utz Outlet), and, from checking the Community Aid website, I see that it would be easy to find. Can't wait to make the trip, and I'm excited to go on either a Wednesday OR a Tuesday (no shame here - my husband qualifies for the senior discount).
